When working for Kroger, a part-time employee can actually work as many as 40 hours a week (during the summer) and as little as 8-16 (during the standard school year), the problem is they almost force you to take either two 15 minute breaks for every 8 hour shift, or a 30 minute break. You will likely never be worked more than 8 hours each day. However, this may vary depending on department in the store.
They despise paying part-time work over time or late night premiums so try to be fairly accurate about when you clock in or out. They will probably never schedule you for later than 10PM unless you run a cash register or work stocking shelves.

I agree with part of what the other person wrote: you can work as much as 40 hours or as little as 10 (I am only part-time because I am in school but in the summer I work a 40 hour week).
The part about despising paying part-time people is not true, at least where I work. And I've never heard of this after 10pm thing?! Most of the time at my store the part time people are given the later shifts because the full time people have more seniority.

To gauge how much, fast food joints are paying 3.50 to 4.00rm an hour to part timers... bear in mind they are not covered with EPF, Socso etc... Maybe can consider giving bonus if your friend kiosk ada untung....hehehe
