USPS package lost for over a month?

My parents sent me a package via USPS on Nov 30, 2010. Unfortunately, my mom decided to take a chance and not get insurance. She did get a tracking number for it, though. The last update on the package said it was in Warrendale, PA sorting facility December 1. There hasn't been a single update since then. Every single week since the package has been mailed we have called the 1-800 number and talked to a representative. We've filed over 5 different missing package claims. Every single time they say that it is in Warrendale and that the "snow has caused delays in getting the package out" but that they can't give me anymore information. My mother got a hold of a manager at the Warrendale Sorting Facility and she says she will look for the package and call back, but she never does. Everytime it is a different story, sometimes people think the address label got damaged, so it is just sitting somewhere.

Anyway, I can't seem to get anyone to help us with our problem. The package is important and valuable, and I know my mother should have got insurance, but there has to be something more we can do. Does anyone have any suggestions or know the best way to file a claim for a missing package?

Well I know you can call that post office directly and be placed on hold while they hunt for it. I've had them do this for me many times since I ship for a company as my job. So don't let them 'call her back' stay on hold and just wait. Also when you talk to someone under 1-800-askusps they can give you a number to call and to file a claim for the package. Now I've been told before when I file a second claim the first becomes void and they have to start all over. Idk how true that is. But I'd call the last post office it says the package was at when you tracked it and like I said just sit on the phone and wait. Hope you find it!

it quite is unbelievably awful provider, they ought to a minimum of grant you with decrease back your $40. to any extent further i'd advise using a shipper that has some integrity consisting of united statesor FedEx. i'd bypass on your community submit place of work, modern-day your case, and ask on your funds decrease back. tutor them the information that they lost your kit and be continual, yet to boot be polite and respectful because pissing them off gained't help.
