Question:
What time does the United States Postal Service stop delivery on a normal day?
2008-11-28 16:43:47 UTC
I am waiting for a very important package and I am curious as to what time I will need to wait till the next day.

Do any former postal workers or people who work with that service know what time the United States Postal Service stop delivery of packages? Is there a certain time that they stop delivery of large packages?

I've looked all over Google and Yahoo and have not been able to find any sort of answer at all, I always assumed it was around eight o' clock but I have no idea how to confirm that.

They work until 5pm but if the driver is running behind it might take a little while longer. If the package is to big you might have to go to the post office to pick it up, they usually leave a notice on your door or in your mailbox but it won't hurt to call or go there.

on a normal day 9:00 to 5pm but again if it is a bit bigger/ more important than regular mail it might take a bit longer to be delivered but if its a pretty big package lets say backpack, iPhone, computer it would not be delivered by the Postal Service it would be delivered by UPS from the times 9:00 to 7pm but as we all know IF they are running behind your packages could come from 8pm to 9:30! - hoped this helped

I don't care in the least. I seldom get anything but junk mail, and that's just a waste of money and trees. If I ship a package, there's no way I'm sending it via USPS; they are slow and unreliable, and things are lost or damaged on a regular basis. As far as I'm concerned, we can do away with the Post Office completely. I'll stick with UPS or Fedex and e-mail. The postal workers and their union wanted more and more money for doing less and less, and thought they'd be indispensible; they priced themselves out of jobs, and I say good riddance to bad rubbish.
